** I loved the cool breeze of dusk, the beautiful sunsets over the plush farmland, the beautiful green rolling hills, all the fire flies that add to this fairy tale farmland. It was a wonderful day!

Drew started his Retina Fellowship - Drove to the hospital because parking is pricey, we still have to figure this out - he may ride a bike during the Summer
Mom and I started unpacking and organizing the kitchen and family room: It is nice to be organized and getting settled in. I lost it a couple of times because some of my good dishes (two plates from Paris - we picked up on our honeymoon were broken!)
Ate dinner without Drew - he got home late
Went shopping with Mom finished picking up items for our new place

Friday
Jaida had her two week well baby: Ck her blog post coming soon for the update.

Drew got off 5:30 pm and came home with a "Stone Clinic Survival Kit" just more training and orientation . . . he is ready to start next week
Drew is so blessed to be in Iowa at this time . . . to be doing a fellowship in Retina Surgery. He is working with individuals who are doing genetic therapy on patients with eye problems and this is the only place they are doing this. Many well known doctors will be flying in from all over the world and he will be rubbing shoulders with them. The research possibilities are wonderful. His mentor is Dr. Bolt who is a Retina Surgeon and has done a lot with eye tumors and is very well known. We will be getting together with him at his home, for a welcome dinner, for all the new fellows - July 11th.
Date Night: Treated Mom to her favorite and mine RED LOBSTER (pineapple smoothie, lobster pizza (the best, so good), Walt's shrimp, king crab legs, cheese biscuits, salad) for all she has done for us
Jazz concert at Ped Mall - loved sitting in the grass, stopping at all the vendors - Ashton loved playing on the big jumping gym
Stopped at the coolest jewelry vendor www.closetoearth.com - picked out two unique rings lime green, and yellow

Fourth of July Parade in Des Moines, sat on the lawn of my old church I attended when I lived in Iowa during my elementary years.
Ashton loved the parade super cute, waving, giving high fives, collecting his candy . . . saw a boat in the parade and ran up to it, pointed "Boat, Boat" wanted to get on, waved to all the people on the boat. It was so cute. He loved rolling down the grassy hill!
Headed back to the Barbers for some yummy BBQ (Steak (the best I have ever had) fruit salad, yummy corn, an assortment of baked goods (Cheese Cake, Brownie with Cream Cheese Frosting topped with blue berries, raspberries and strawberries (decorated as a flag), festive cupcakes, Baguette bread with artichoke dip (All the food was from Cost Co - I need a membership, the food is so good), Fresh Lemonade, Goose Root beer, pickles, Cherries, and the best BBQ potato chips) The highlight was the best homemade ice cream Uncle Don made (a qt of heavy whipping cream, 1 bottle of Hersey syrup, Ghiradelli chocolate chips chopped up 2 cups, 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, chocolate milk and regular milk . . . WOW. I had two bowls . . .We were going to stay for fireworks (Uncle Don got back from truck driving to Missouri and picked up huge, illegal fireworks)!
Astian is Tasha's little boy, my second cousin, Ashton's third cousin . . . They have really taken to each other, best buds. I have never seen Ashton hold another child's hand. He loved playing with him, following him around, laughing with him and holding his hand.
Had a two hour drive home!
