Cat Bite and A Black Bear

Mom has had some interesting animal experiences over the past few months. Just today she phoned me and said, "you are never going to believe this story!" This morning I was out side by the garage and was super frustrated because all the trash was out, I thought a racoon had gotten into it. I went into the garage to put the garbage back and came out. I was in there for no more than a few minutes and just as I was shutting the garage this Big Black Bear went running up the hills into the trees, turned around, sat down and starred at me. She than told me she ran inside locked the door and freaked out for a minute! She mentioned that all over the news there have been sitings of Black Bears in Grants Pass near Red Wood Road, where they live and other neighbors have spotted them, but she never thought she would run into one and only seconds they were sharing the same garage!!!

A few months ago while working out side their cat, Tom, A Stray Cat, was right behind mom. She stepped back and stepped right on Tom's paw and Tom grabbed onto her shine with claws and teeth. The puncture wounds were deep. She said it was the worst pain she had ever experienced or been in. She put some stuff on it and waited a week. She didn't go to the doctor. On Sunday, a doctor in their ward told her she needed antibiotics immediately, the infection could spread up her leg and go to her heart. He looked at it and said it was really bad. The swelling and infection were taking up a huge portion of her calf. They said if it got to bad they could potentially amputate. Jared went over and put a glass on her leg after burning the edge and it make a suction on her leg and it pulled out a lot of the puss and infection, it smelled really bad (they all said). She started the antibiotics and it started healing.
